Install an eSIM on iPhone
iPhone XR or newer, running iOS 14 or later
Install your eSIM before you fly, while you still have Wi-Fi. It sits alongside your normal SIM — nothing is removed or replaced.
Step by step
Connect to Wi-Fi. The install needs an internet connection, and once you land you won't have one yet.
Open Settings, then tap Cellular (or Mobile Service).
Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code, and point the camera at the QR code from your order.
When asked, label the new line something like “Prime Travel” so you can tell it apart from your home line.
Under Cellular Data, choose the Prime line. Leave your home line on for calls and texts, and keep its data roaming switched off.
Stay on Wi-Fi for the whole install. If the download fails halfway, reconnect and scan the same code again — the plan isn't consumed until it installs successfully.
